Blair O’Neal was born to Londa Cunningham and Robert O’Neal. She has three siblings named Brooke, Bryce and Tyler. Soon after Blair’s birth the family moved from to Tempe, Arizona., where Blair and her siblings spent the rest of their childhood, and attended Corona del Sol High School. Having matriculated, she was awarded a full scholarship and enrolled at Arizona State University, graduating with a BA majoring in Communications with a minor in Sociology.
Shortly after relocating to Tempe, Blair’s father persuaded her and her brother Tyler to join a junior golf school in the nearby city of Mesa. Blair soon fell in love with the sport, and practiced daily at Dobson Ranch Golf Club. Her love grew into a passion, and her hard work paid off when Blair was chosen to play for the American Junior Golf Association when she was only 13 years old, and it wasn’t long before Blair proved to be one of the most talented young golfers in the US. Among many other accolades, she was selected to represent her country at the Junior Ryder Cup held in Valderrama, Spain. Following her graduation, O’Neal promptly got her professional license and went on to play in several Asian countries. Unfortunately, she was forced to put her professional golf career on hold shortly after gaining status on the LPGA Futures Tour; the reason for this untimely break was a broken foot.
However, Blair eventually recovered completely, and made a comeback after almost five years away from the golf course. She was offered participation in a reality television series entitled “Big Break: Prince Edward Island” which was broadcast on the Golf Channel in 2009. Even though she only had less than a month of preparation, Blair’s talent shone once again, and she finished in second place. In the following year she participated at the same tournament, this time held in Dominican Republic, and unsurprisingly was crowned the winner, and earned the main prize – $50,000. O’Neal’s triumphs revived her golf career entirely, and once again she earned her status on the LPGA Symetra Tour, and signed a sponsorship deal with Puma as well. She continued to play golf full time until 2015, when she decided to slowly turn towards media world, and become a television personality.
Modeling and Television Career
At the same time as she became a professional golfer, Blair started her modeling work, and as her foot injury necessitated a move away from sport, she focused solely on modeling. O’Neal slowly built her impressive portfolio through numerous modeling gigs, such as fashion shows, commercials, magazine covers and various catalogs; for example, she was a swimsuit model for Cobra-Puma for three years. Being a successful model proved crucial for Blair’s financial stability. After she returned to the golf course, it did not take long before she was recognized as one of the most beautiful golf players and sports women in the world. Golf Channel named her one of the ‘top 10 fit golfers’, while Sports Illustrated included her in their ‘hottest 50 athletes of all-time’ list. Blair’s amazing looks and rising popularity enabled her to become a sought-after television personality, with her career in this field beginning on the Golf Channel. In recent years she has hosted numerous talk shows on Golf Channel and elsewhere, such as “School of Golf”, “Morning Drive”, “What’s in the Bag” and “Golf’s Sexiest Shots”.
