- Casper had started playing tennis from the age of 4, inspired by his father Christian, who has continued to be a member of his coaching team, as of July 2021.
- He had started the calendar year of 2016 as the number 1 ranked junior player in the world, the first Norwegian player to have achieved the feat.
- At the 2017 Rio Open, he had become the youngest player to reach the semi-final of an ATP 500 tournament since Borna Ćorić at the 2014 Swiss Indoors.
- When he had qualified for the main draw of the 2018 Australian Open, he had become the first Norwegian player in 17 years to qualify for the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament.
- After reaching the semi-final of the 2019 Brasil Open, he had broken into the ‘Top 100’ of the official ATP singles rankings for the first time in his career. He had become the first Norwegian player to do so after his father had achieved the feat in December 1994.
- In April 2019, when he had reached the final of the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championships, he had become just the 2nd Norwegian player to reach the final of an ATP Tour event, after his father Christian Ruud.
