Daniel Franzese is an American actor, comedian, and activist who is best known for his work in films such as Bully (2001), Mean Girls (2004), and Killer Pad (2008). He is also well recognized for playing characters such as Eddie in the comedy-drama TV series Looking (2015), Vern Testaverde in the teen drama TV series Recovery Road (2016), and Jackson Morrison in the legal drama TV series Conviction (2016-2017). He has performed numerous live comedy shows such as the 2011 rock opera Jersey Shoresical: A Frickin’ Rock Opera! and one-man stand-up performances such as I’ve Never Really Made the Kind of Money to Become a Mess (2013). In the mid-2010s, after coming out as gay, he has been actively involved in the fight for civil and human rights for the LGBTQ community.

Daniel, post his portrayal of the HIV-positive character Eddie in the comedy-drama TV series Looking (2015) and its subsequent TV film Looking: The Movie (2016), became an icon for people suffering from AIDS in the United States. His subsequent activism led him to be chosen as an ambassador for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.
  2. His mother used to work as a lunch lady at the Piper High School while he was a student there between 1992 and 1996.
  3. Besides his career in the entertainment industry, he is an avid curator and had curated his first art show in October 2007. The show, titled Halloween, was a multi-artist exhibition that examined celebrity, vanity, and money.
  4. In April 2008, at the World of Wonder Storefront Gallery in Los Angeles, he had curated another show called depARTed which had featured art inspired by celebrities or politicians that had died young or died before their time.
