  1. She comes from a family of competitive swimmers.
  2. Her father represented Australia in the 1980 Summer Olympics and 1984 Summer Olympics.
  3. At the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics held in Singapore, Emma McKeon won a gold medal in the girls’ 4 × 100 meter medley relay; silver medals in the 100 meter freestyle and the mixed 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay; and bronze medals in the 50 meter freestyle, 200 meter freestyle, and mixed 4 × 100 meter medley relay.
  4. As Emma and her brother David were both selected as part of the Australian team for the 2016 Summer Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, they became the first brother-sister duo after John Konrads and Ilsa Konrads (who participated in 1960) to swim at an Olympic Games for Australia.
  5. In 2021, she won 7 medals in Tokyo, the most by any female swimmer at a single Games and equal most with Soviet gymnast Maria Gorokhovskaya.
  6. Emma McKeon has also been a member of the London Roar team, competing in Season 2 of the International Swimming League (ISL).
