Mitch Trubisky Facts

  1. During his high school football career, Mitch passed for 9,126 yards and 92 touchdowns and rushed for 1,559 career yards and 33 touchdowns. In his high school senior year (2012), he was honored with the ‘Ohio Mr. Football’ award.
  2. In his college days, he had earned the nickname ‘Mr. Biscuit’ because one of his coaches had trouble pronouncing his last name properly (Trubisky).
  3. In 2018, he helped the Chicago Bears clinch the NFC (National Football Conference) North division title for the first time since 2010. The NFC is one of the two conferences (the other being the AFC (American Football Conference)) of the National Football League. Both the conferences are further split into 4 divisions – North, South, Eat, and West.
  4. In January 2019, on his NFL playoff debut, having completed 26 of 43 passes for 303 yards, a touchdown, and a passer rating of 89.6 (the yards and completions set new franchise postseason records), Mitch became the youngest Chicago Bears quarterback to throw a touchdown pass in the playoffs since 1986.
  5. Although he had played his last game for the Chicago Bears in 2020, he, as of September 2022, had still held 3 franchise records – postseason single-game yardage record with 303 yards (previously held by Sid Luckman); franchise rookie records for completions (196) and passing yards (2,193); and the fastest franchise quarterback to have eclipsed 10,000 career passing yards (49 games) (previously held by Jim McMahon).
  6. For his strong performances that season, he had been declared a Pro Bowl (the annual ‘All-Star Game’ of the NFL) participant on January 21, 2019.
