Patrick Stewart is an English actor, director, and producer who has had a stellar career spanning more than 6 decades in films, TV, and theater. Best known globally for portraying Captain Jean-Luc Picard in the Star Trek movie and TV franchises and Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men series of superhero films, he was honored with a star on the ‘Hollywood Walk of Fame’ in 1996. For his services to drama, he was knighted in 2010.

- Although Patrick’s parents had not given him a middle name, he had used ‘Hewes’ as his middle name professionally in the 1980s.
- After leaving school in his mid-teens to increase his participation in local theatre, he had worked as a newspaper reporter and obituary writer for the Mirfield & District Reporter. However, a year later, his employer had forced him to choose between acting and journalism, forcing him to leave the job.
