Girlfriend / Spouse

Simon has dated –

  1. Karen Doull – Through his long-term past marriage to a woman named Karen, Simon has 2 sons named Adam Carter and Hunter Doull.
  2. Peggy Bourne – A few months after the death of champion New Zealand rally car driver Peter Raymond George Bourne aka Possum Bourne in April 2003, Simon was involved in a much-publicized romance with Peggy Bourne, Peter’s widow. Simon faced a lot of backlash in the media and from cricket fans as he had decided to end his relationship with Karen (who was 5 months into her pregnancy (bearing their son Hunter)) so that he could be with Peggy.
  3. Liana Herbert – Simon met Liana Herbert in September 2018 in a hospital in Hamilton, a city on the North Island of New Zealand, by chance. Simon was undergoing an operation there while Liana was recovering from shoulder surgery. They hit it off during their rehabilitation period and got married in November 2019. Liana is a bowel cancer survivor and had 4 children (3 sons named Baden, Corban, and Luka, and a daughter named Maisie) from 2 previous marriages before she tied the knot with Simon.
  4. Brigitte Segers (2022-Present) – It is unclear when or why Simon parted ways with Liana but he and Brigitte Segers began posting pictures with each other on Instagram in September 2022. Brigitte was working as a member of the cabin crew with Etihad Airways (one of the 2 flag carriers of the United Arab Emirates) at that time.

Simon Doull Facts

  1. The highlight of Simon’s international career was a test match in late December 1998 against India where he recorded superb bowling figures of 7/65.
  2. It was the then 4th-best bowling performance in a test match inning by a bowler from New Zealand. The performance saw him reach a career-high ranking of number 6 in the test match format in the official ICC (International Cricket Council) player rankings.
  3. Simon was a non-playing member of the New Zealand squad that reached the semi-final of the 1999 ICC Cricket World Cup. It was the 7th edition (played in May and June 1999) of the tournament and the 4th time that New Zealand had reached the semi-final. The team lost all 4 of those semi-finals.
  4. He suffered a career-threatening knee injury during New Zealand’s 1999 tour of England (June-August 1999). Although he made a comeback to the national team thereafter, his performances were lackluster in home matches against Australia in March 2000, signaling the end of his international career.
